It was awesome! I thumbnailed several chapters of my book (though I haven&#8217;t sent them to my editor yet &#8211; hi, Chris!) and came up with a much, much better outline. I also moved from feeling overwhelmed and intimidated to feeling excited and am actually enjoying myself &#8211; a huge leap. I&#8217;m aiming to have the proposal done by the end of February, which, to my great relief, looks like a very attainable goal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ellenforney.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/janwritingretreat.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ellenforney.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/janwritingretreat.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"janwritingretreat\" width=\"432\" height=\"324\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-748\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Me toiling in my <a href=\"http:\/\/sacredgroves.com\/about-sacred-groves\/living-at-sacred-groves\/\">yurtlet <\/a>at <a href=\"http:\/\/sacredgroves.com\/\">Sacred Groves<\/a>, where I did a retreat <a href=\"https:\/\/ellenforney.com\/blog\/2008\/07\/02\/cartoonist-retreat\/\">last June<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d also like to take this opportunity to thank Jamie Vann, the most awesomest research assistant I could possibly hope for.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just got back from my week-plus retreat on Bainbridge Island and AH!
